In May 2015, ВИЗИТЫ К МИСТЕРУ ГРИН opened in Almaty, at the Lermontov State Russian Drama Theatre the most important theatre in Kazakhstan, starring legendary actor Yuri Pomerantsev, then 92 years old, as Mr. Green, and Anton Mitnëv as Ross Gardiner.
It was directed by Sergei Popov in a translation by Mikhael Polichtchouk.

In 2019, Vlad Bukatkin took over the role of Ross Gardiner, opposite Yuri Pomerantsev, now 96 years old.
Interrupted at times by the pandemic, Visiting Mr. Green continued to play at Lermontov. Yuri Pomerantsev celebrated his 99th birthday early in 2022 by playing Mr. Green.
On March 23, 2022, two days after his last performance as Mr. Green, Yuri Pomerantsev passed away. In his seven years playing the role, he never stopped working on it, finding new elements of the story and the character until the very end. Jewish in real life, he appreciated the character’s history and complexity.
