מר גרין, the Israeli production of Visiting Mr. Green opened at the Cameri Theatre in 2001.  Starring Yossi Graber as Mr. Green and Micha Selektar as Ross Gardiner, it became one of the longest running plays in Israeli history, with over 500 performances throughout the country over the next five years.

Micha Selektar & Yossi Graber

“הבימוי והמשחק הרגישים מסייעים להפקה הצנועה הזו לשאוב את הצופה כליל לתוך עולמה. “מר גרין” הופכת ליותר מהצגה; היא פיסת חיים קטנה וממוקדת. יוסי גרבר לא מגלם את מר גרין, הוא מר גרין עצמו. הוא כל מה שכולנו סוחבים במזוודת השורשים שלנ. .כדאי להגיע.”

“The sensitive direction and acting help this modest production draw the viewer completely into its world. “Mr. Green” becomes more than a show; It is a small and focused piece of life. Yossi Graber does not play Mr. Green, he is Mr. Green himself. He is everything that we all carry in our suitcase of roots. It’s worth coming.”

Mr. Green won Best Play and Best Actor at the Israeli Theatre Awards. It was directed by Alon Ophir, with a translation by Ido Ricklin, and set and costumes by Eric Smith.

“I won’t hide and I won’t lie. I was moved to tears by this wonderful play and by the wonderful acting. Yossi Graber is astounding. It will bring back to you your trust in life. Run, and don’t forget to take your parents.”

“An exciting and brilliant human comedy in which laughter and sadness are intertwined. It describes with heartbreaking precision the soul of an elderly man.”
